What is Fortuna protective varnish?
The protective wall varnish is a product used to protect surfaces from external influences and damage. It is applied with a roller, brush, or paint gun on the wall after painting, applying decorative finish, or decorative treatment, and forms a protective layer that shields the wall from moisture, dirt, dust, wear, and other factors. It is manufactured with an extremely high content of strong acrylic dispersion, making it elastic and preventing the formation of micro-cracks.
It is transparent and highlights the color of the wall or treated surface. The protective wall varnish is available in 3 different variations – glossy, matte and satin (semi-matt). The choice of the specific product depends on the preferences for appearance and the desired effect.

Applying Fortuna Protective Varnish
When applying the Protective Varnish it is important to use a high quality roller and apply in thin, even layers. For embossed surfaces it can be applied with a brush or sponge. It is usually dry to the touch within a few hours and a second coat can be applied after four to six hours if necessary.

Drying Time
2-4 hours at 20°C.
Allow to dry completely between coats and after the final coat.
Step 1
Preparing the Base
Prepare the surface very well. If necessary, clean and sand.
Step 2
Strengthening the Foundation
For friable and porous surfaces, first apply Fortuna nano impregnator – diluted in a ratio of 1:4 primer/water. It is very important for dust removal and surface hardening.
Step 3
Priming
Apply Fortuna wall primer to even out the color of the base and reduce consumption. For better results, you can mix Fortuna wall primer with some of the paint you will be applying.
Step 4
Application
Apply FORTUNA Protective Varnish to the painted surface at a temperature of 5°C to 25°C. You can dilute with up to 5% water. If a second coat is needed, apply after the previous one has dried or 2-3 hours at 20°C. Rub well.
If you used paper tape to edge the painted surface, be sure to remove it before the Protective Varnish dries!
All FORTUNA paints and coatings are manufactured with a high content of acrylic dispersion and are extremely durable. Once dried, they form a dense and elastic film, which makes it difficult for tape to adhere and may lead to paint peeling.
